So…we’ve cruised…and cruised…and cruised for approximately 2,700 miles. Boy did we see, do, eat, experience a lot. So much so, I’ve decided to break my recap posts into two, if you don’t mind.
On the first leg of our #southernamericatour / #pupventure13 (did you follow along on Instagram by any chance?) we toured through the southwest. From SoCal to Sedona to Albuquerque to Oklahoma City, down through Texas to Houston (and back!), me and Mr. Harvey ventured across all the desert and ranch-land one could ever imagine.
While the terrain all blended into one after some time, we couldn’t help but enjoy the absolute splendor around us. Open land, wild foliage and roaming animals…truly majestic. And as the photo-obsessed lady that I am, we did our fair share of stop – snap – drive along our journey. So today I’m sharing a selection of pics from our trip:
We made a stop at the Rio Grande as recommended by the lovely Becky of The Barkitect.(Thanks again!)
We arrived in New Mexico during their annual Balloon Fiesta, and boy what a site! Hundreds of balloons floating overhead full of color and shapes…just breathtaking.
As we closed our journey, we made a quick stop in Gilbert, AZ to visit some new friends and meet the wonderful Conan the Coonhound.
As I’ve said in the past and will say again, traveling with your dog offers a special kind of magic that you just can’t find elsewhere. Living through their excitement to see, hear, smell and simply take in each and every new environment is so invigorating and keeps gets me excited for each new destination and adventure that awaits.
If life seems a bit dull, do yourself a favor – adopt a pup and hit the road.
Be sure to check in tomorrow when I share pictures for my solo #southernamericatour through Georgia and the Carolinas!
