The holidays can mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people, and I personally think that the holidays are a special time to vocalize your appreciation for those in your life. So why not take the time this year to show your friends and family some love with a special holiday greeting card. It’s been a good year for both me and Mr. Harvey. We have much to be thankful for. Not only was this the year we launched HouseofHarvey.com (Est. May 2012), but it also happens to be the year that I embarked on the scariest venture in my life thus far: full-time freelancing.
It’s been a year of changes, a year of down-and-out moments, and a year of pure joy. But most of all, it has been a year of gratefulness. A lot has been thrown our way, but we have made it through unscathed and better for it, and for that, we are truly grateful.
So in order to give back and shout a big ‘ol “THANK YOU” for all those who have been there along the way, we are going to run a donation drive.
I will be donating $100 to the incredible Pet Adoption Fund (the rescue where I adopted my first love, Sir Winston Churchill), but for every NEW like on Facebook (currently at 1,764), every new follower on Twitter (currently at 211) and every new Pinterest follower (currently at 457) between today and November 28, I will donate an additional $1 to the pot.
Rescue organizations have been responsible for SO much of the joy that has been brought into my life, and I think it is so important to give back, in whatever way possible, as a way to say thanks. So I hope you will help the cause and spread the word, and most of all, I hope you all have a safe and happy Thanksgiving with friends, family and pups!

You’d be amazed at how much swag exists for each breed (more than you think), so it’s time to showcase our breed love….even for the mutts!

I’ve always dreamed of hosting a faboo vintage party, with fantastic floral dresses, canapes and side car beverages. Now with the holidays fast approaching, I may just make that dream a reality. And if I am to throw a truly fabulous throw back shin-dig, I have to have a fabulous throw back bar cart….right?
I decided to start House of Harvey because I have a sincere love of dogs and design. When I launched this blog, I never thought a) that I would stick with it for so long (yes, only six months in and I didn’t think I’d make it here) and b) that anyone would read it. I am so thrilled to say that I was wrong on both counts, and am so humbled by the little community that has grown out of this project.
As I continue to dedicate myself to bringing you the best in dogs and design, I thought it was time that I invest some more time and money into this venture. So a couple of weeks ago I decided to get some professional portraits taken of me and my pup, Mr. Harvey. The incredible Kori Stanton took these beautiful images at our favorite park and I couldn’t be more thrilled with how they turned out. I hope you all enjoy and are inspired to capture some of your own special moments with your pets!
